At Brookfield Properties, we believe in the positive impact art has on the people and spaces it reaches. That’s why we launched Creator Lab, a program that gives artists a platform to showcase their talents by turning ordinary spaces into colorful canvases, all while connecting with–and inspiring– new audiences.
Creator Lab showcases a vast variety of creative architects from muralists and photographers to experiential chefs and technology virtuosos, individuals whose work has the power to revolutionize space, connect communities, and redefine what visiting a shopping center means.
Cody Hudson x Brookfield Properties
We partnered with Cody Hudson to create a physical depiction of the ever-changing world of retail. The way in which Cody’s shapes and colors communicate on his canvases mirrors the way various elements of a retail center– from tenants and shoppers to community events and experiences– work together to create one, united, meaningful space. The synergy between Cody’s artwork and our retail communities inspired this partnership and, we hope, brings inspiration to all those who view his work. Stay tuned to see how our partnership with Cody continues to come to life throughout the year.
Cody is a Wisconsin native, Chicago-based illustrator, designer, and explorer of colors and shapes. This self proclaimed "lover of circles" has a unique ability to illustrate emotions and aesthetics through his freeform organic artwork. Check out more of Cody's work and learn about his design studio, Struggle Inc.

Next in Retail
"Next in Retail: Reimagining the Future of the Industry" aims to debunk the misconceptions regarding the state of physical retail. We partnered with artist Lisa Tegtmeier, whose playful illustrations complement the information provided by our Business Intelligence and Strategy Team that explores the essential role physical stores have in providing businesses with growth opportunities in today's retail environment.
